The university was founded in the year 1972. Currently, it has 8000 students, 6 faculties and 6 institutes. It has 4 schools:

1. Physics and Mathematics.
2. History and philology.
3. Agriculture ad biology.
4. Chemistry.

In the year 1974, the university further established 3 more departments:

1. Botany department.
2. Human and animal anatomy.
3. Physiology department.

Also, the university was awarded with the “gold medal European quality” in the year 2009.

However, in spite of the fact that it is MCI recognized, its MCI Passing Ratio is very low. Logically, that makes it a major risk!

About The City:

Mari el republic is the capital of Yoshkar-Ola. Yoshkar-Ola is called as the red city in Mari. Before 1919, the city was well known as “Tsaryovokokshaysk”. In between 1919 and 1927 the city was termed as “Krasnokokshaysk”.

The city was named after the Malaya Kokshaga River which flows through the city.

The city has a temperate continental climate. It is one of the ancient cities in Russia. There are a number of bus and railway routes which connects Yoshkar-Ola with different cities and towns.

The winters can be very cold. The lowest recorded Temperature is -480C. It remains between -10 to -150C. It is a great challenge for even the Natives.

The airport lies 9km north from the city of Yoshkar-Ola. There are regular flights to/from Moscow –Yoshkar- Ola.

The library of the university was established on 1 February, 2008. Currently it has 12 departments, 7 reading halls and 7 subscriptions.

It consists of around 114 people working within it and library fund numbers over 10000000 items.

Sports At The University:

Every year a “sports day” is organized by the university. The university provides a wide range of different sports activities to the students in which they can actively participate.

The sports arena of the university consist of a mini football field, a track and field complex,2 sandy courts(for beach volleyball) and an asphalt court(for team sport).

The university also provides gym, indoor courts (for basketball), volleyball and fitness rooms to the students.

Admission In Mari State University:

• Applicant has at least 50% marks in aggregate in physics, chemistry and biology.
• Applicant is turning 17 years old in 2022.
• Applicant has completed his 12th class.
• Applicant is not suffering from any contagious disease i.e. tuberculosis, HIV AIDS, etc.
